Our Pastor
Elder Belton Williams is the proud son of the late Frank and Orina Williams. He was born on July 3, 1954 at Aiken
Regional Medical Center. He attended Greendale Elementary and graduated from Aiken High School in 1972.
Elder Belton and First Lady Jennifer Williams were united in marriage on July 28, 1979. From this union, three
children were born, Melonie, Phillip and Candace Williams.
In 1979, Elder Belton Williams began his walk with Christ at St. Noah Church of God In Christ, in Aiken, South
Carolina. Elder Belton Williams’s work in the ministry was phenomenal. He served on the Pastor Aid Committee, as youth and boy’s
club leader, van driver and Deacon. He also found the time to help build on the church and serve as his pastor’s, Superintendent
Gehazel Williams, Armour bearer. First lady Jennifer Williams was also a very active member of the St. Noah Church. She served as
Sunday School Superintendent and song with the choir. Because of their faithfulness to their pastor and church, God elevated them
to become leaders at Greater Faith Mission in Barnwell, South Carolina.
When sent to Greater Faith Mission, Elder Belton Williams set out to bring a spiritual awakening to Barnwell. He
did so by knocking door-to-door passing out tracks, feeding hungry children, and showing love to everyone he met. God later sent
an overflow and a new building had to be built to accommodate the masses of people. Construction began in 1998 and was completed
in 1999. In August on 2000, Elder Belton Williams received a vision to build a fellowship hall so that tutorial class can be held
for at risk children. This vision was completed by February 2002.
Because of his deep desire to serve the community, and to help the people of the Barnwell Community he developed a
community-based corporation, which is known as Higher Grounds Community Development Corporation.
The vision still continues! Elder Belton and First Lady Jennifer Williams have started many programs to meet the
spiritual as well as natural needs of the people in Barnwell and the surrounding areas. With the help of God, they will keep on
serving and allowing God to order their steps.
